✗ GUIDELINES

✗ ON INTERACTIONSConsidering the themes present on this blog, I will only write with muns that are at least 18+. As of now, I do not have age requirements besides that. Younger muses are always more than welcome to interact, but younger muns I ask go elsewhere. It's nothing personal.Aside from ages, I don't have any specific stipulations in mind for writing partners for the most part. However, this blog is semi-selective and I reserve the right to be as picky as I please with my writing partners. Really, though, it's mostly down to a vibe check if I think we'll have fun writing with each other. If you follow me, I'll be sure to check out your blog and read through your pages. If I think our muses would be interesting to write together, I'll definitely follow back. However, if I don't follow back, then please do not take it personally! I'm sure you're a lovely person and your muse is great, and I wish you all the best--I just probably don't feel our muses or writing styles would be compatible.I don't do DNI's. If you have one, I will do my utmost best to honor it and respect your boundaries, but they're not for me. If you have a URL-specific DNI, however, I will not be interested in writing with you. Again, I'm sure you're a lovely person, but I'm incredibly wary of potentially getting dragged into drama, and while respecting boundaries is important to me, I don't enjoy being told who I can and can't interact with. So, in that case, I'll make sure to respect both of our boundaries by just not interacting. On a similar note, personal blogs (i.e. personal accounts with no RP blogs attached) are more than welcome to follow and interact, but I ask that all personal blogs do not reblog threads. I don't mind if you want to hang out and read them, but please don't touch those. You're also more than welcome to send me character development prompts and asks as you please! However, please respect my my writing partners' boundaries as well. If my partner doesn't want personal blogs interacting with them, I expect you to respect that. Feel free to hang out around me as much as you want, though, I don't bite! This blog is OC and crossover friendly! In fact, I'd go so far as to say it's OC and crossover reliant, since there are basically no other TFTGS-centric RP blogs I'm aware of, haha! While I do expect that all muses I write with have some sort of about page presented so I know what you're bringing to the table, I'm down for writing with basically all fandoms at this point. Show me what you got! (An important exception to this, however, is RPF. I will never be comfortable writing with muses that are straight-up real people. That just makes me uneasy and I'd prefer not to touch that with a ten-foot pole.)And as a late note for this section, reblog karma means nothing to me personally. If it's important to you, I will keep that in mind, but feel free to reblog memes directly from me. I might get a bit miffed if you only reblog from me and never send me any, but it's truly not the end of the world. Go nuts!           ✗ ON FORMATTINGI do not use formatted or small text in my replies, nor do I typically use icons. However, you are always more than welcome to do so, as I understand the aesthetic is part of the appeal for many people. At the end of the day, you should do what makes this more fun for you, and I will do the same for myself. I do ask that you not use excessive formatting such as indenting in replies to me because that makes it a nightmare for me to read, but otherwise use as much or as little formatting as you desire. Also, go nuts with icons.I also don't know shit about making an interesting theme, y'all, and it's not something I'm interested in agonizing over trying to figure out. This carrd is about as exciting as things are gonna get, and I still relied heavily on a template. Temper your expectations.           ✗ ON ACTIVITYMy activity on this blog is going to vary significantly. I have a life outside of RP and I run multiple other blogs. Plus, I am extremely mentally ill, so please bear with me. For the most part, consider this blog low activity. I'm a slow writer, which means that I may take multiple weeks to respond to a thread. However, that doesn't mean I'm not interested or not invested! I'm just fucking depressed, dude. You're more than welcome to give me a nudge if you feel I've forgotten a thread, but please be patient. If you consistently nudge me within a day of your last reply, for example, I'm very likely to just drop the thread altogether. I respect that you have a life outside of our threads, and I expect you to do the same for me.Speaking of, if you ever need or want to drop a thread for any reason, go ahead and do so! I do ask that you give me some kind of notice about it if possible, but that's not really required. As long as we're both on the same page about whether or not a thread is continuing, that's what matters to me. I will give you the same courtesy as much as possible and let you know if I need to drop a thread.Generally speaking, I love to make friendships via the RP community, but there is never any pressure to interact with me outside of an RP context. I'm not here to force a friendship, after all! However, I expect some level of ooc communication. Complete and total radio silence doesn't work for me, chief. You gotta fucking talk to me if we're gonna be writing.Mutuals are more than welcome to ask for my discord, where I will promptly never shut the fuck up and bother you every day ever for the rest of your life <3

✗ ON CONTENTI most prefer to write via tumblr, but mutuals can always ask for my discord for either writing or plotting purposes, or even just to chat. Just know that my response time will certainly vary, especially on discord.Triggering content is perfectly fine with me, so long as things are discussed in advance as needed. Everything will be tagged accordingly. I personally use the tagging format #[trigger] cw but I am more than happy to tag things differently upon request. If you need anything specific tagged from me, there's never any harm in asking, but I reserve the right to say no if it's not a request I can reasonably accommodate.Additionally, I believe that it is a person’s responsibility to curate their feed and filter out any tags they need to. Though I will tag sensitive topics to the best of my ability, I do also recommend looking at my Warnings page for more information on what content will be hosted here. It's up to you to decide if following this blog is a good idea for you.At the end of the day, it is your responsibility to make sure you can avoid content that might be upsetting. I am not going to be censoring myself or others. There will occasionally be nsfw content, though actual smut threads will be highly selective. If you do not wish to see any nsfw content, please blacklist #nsfw cw and #suggestive cw. The former is for explicit nsfw content, and the latter is for more suggestive stuff.I also believe this should go without saying, but just in case: mun =/= muse. For the most part, my muses here are pretty nice and friendly, but they still can be, put simply, huge fucking assholes. Especially Spencer. I hate this bitch. Sometimes, my muses will be rude, violent, and just absolute unreasonable jackasses. This does not mean that I dislike you or your muses, nor does it mean that I condone everything they say. Finally, some level of godmodding is completely fine with me, so long as it is discussed in advance ooc to some extent. I understand that some muses have special powers such as mind control, and I want you to have the chance to use them as you please! Just give me a heads up before throwing that into a thread, and we'll be good. This also applies to killing and harming my muses. Please me a heads up in advance before harming my muses in threads, but generally you're good to go there. I'd also prefer you do not kill my muses unless we agree upon it in advance, because these are in fact my poor little meow meows and I do care about them too much to hurt them like that. Usually.None of the above rules about killing and harming my muses apply to Spencer Middleton. You can maim and harm him as much as you want--go for it. I encourage it. Hurt this motherfucker. I would still appreciate a heads up, but I'm very comfortable with Spencer being beaten and hurt. Mutuals and trusted friends can also kill Spencer at any time as much as they want. Bitch never stays dead anyway.           ✗ ON SHIPPINGAll kinds of shipping are more than welcome here--romantic, sexual, queerplatonic, etc. However, all shipping will be highly selective, though this does depend on the muse as well. Spencer Middleton shipping will be more selective than Jack Townsend shipping, for example. Still, I don't like to ship with just anyone, so I reserve the right to be picky.I am not comfortable jumping into a ship unless I know you very well personally, and I ship based on chemistry. Still, the worst I can say is no, so there's never any harm in asking if you'd like to discuss shipping. As long as you respect my right to say no to your request, I'll never be mad at you for asking. Most likely, unless I really feel our muses would be incompatible, I'll just want to plot it out first.Just know that it's not my only goal with writing these characters, and I'll be honest that I'm not particularly interested in writing exclusively romance. If that's more of your goal, you're valid, but we may not mesh well. This also probably goes without saying, but just in case: my muses here are all adults. As such, shipping is only available with muses that are also adults. Even if I do dabble in verses where they are children, for the most part, I'm not going to ship in those verses. On another note, I am a multishipper and enjoy writing multiple ships. However, I am not comfortable writing infidelity in most cases, so assume that all ships take place in different verses and subverses. Polyamory is also an option, as long as it is discussed in advance between all muns involved.           ✗ ON DUPLICATESSo, as far as I'm aware, there are no other TFTGS-centric RP blogs, excluding one my fiance plans to run. This means that, for the most part, duplicates aren't something I'm concerned about. If one crops up, however, I do not mind if my mutuals and writing partners write with other TFTGS blogs featuring the same characters. I can't control what you do, after all!For me, though, it depends on whether or not the person's headcanons mesh with mine, but for the most part, I am only open to writing duplicates written by people I am very close with. And when I refer to other TFTGS characters in threads, I am referring to my own muses exclusively, or my own interpretations of other characters. I will never impose my headcanons on you if you also write TFTGS.

✗ ABOUT THE MUN

Hi hi hello! My name is Multi, though you may also call me Xavier or Jack if we're close (yes, Jack is one of my names and the name of one of my muses here. Don't worry about it.) I'm 25 years old and use he/they pronouns!I've been around on tumblr since 2013, but I've only been around in the Tumblr RPC specifically since 2020. Before this, I mostly RP'd on Discord, DeviantART, and Feral Heart, once upon a time.I've been a fan of Tales From the Gas Station since about 2018 when I first listened to MrCreepypasta's narration of the original creepypasta, but in the past couple of years it's become a special interest of mine. You know how it is. I've been writing and developing these characters as muses since late 2021.By this point, my interpretations of them are very personal to me.I can be a bit shy at times, and I've been pretty checked out of the RPC for a bit, but I'm trying to get back in here and make an earnest effort to reach out to people. This is a social hobby, after all. Always happy to meet new people! :D

art by my boyfriend chai!

Just making a note here: you are never bothering me if you reach out to talk to me, but please understand I may take some time to respond, especially if I'm dealing with something IRL. While I'm never going to ignore you intentionally, that doesn't mean I'll always be available to reply right away.

✗ ROSTER

For the most part, you can assume that all of my muses are available for interaction. While some are given more priority than others (cough cough Jack), I am always open for plotting and interactions with all of them. Also, my interpretations and designs for these characters are my own, and in many ways these are very canon divergent. Don't worry about it <3

✗ Jack Townsend

the narrator
he/him - 27 - gas station manager
status: main

Jack is the only full-time employee at the gas station and has been for nearly ten years now, as the owners greatly prefer a rotating cast of part-timers to having a consistent staff. As a result, Jack is the de facto manager of the establishment, with all the responsibilities and only half the pay. By now, he's used to it.For the most part, Jack is apathetic and easygoing, taking life's many curveballs and left hooks with a sigh and a resigned sort of acceptance. He's long since made peace with his lot in life and the unique cocktail of mental and physical illnesses that he's dealt with since his late teens. When it comes to his unusual life, Jack prefers to take each day as it comes and not make too much of a fuss about anything.

A little over a year ago, at the urging of his psychiatrist, Jack decided to start a blog under the pseudonym GasStationJack. What started as a way to keep himself sane on long shifts and document his declining health soon became something more, giving him a creative outlet he's never had before.Of course, for all the good that his moderate Internet fame has brought him, it's also made his life much, much more complicated...More about Jack.

✗ Jerry Pascal

the (ex) cultist
he/she - 30 - gas station clerk
status: primary

Jerry is a former member of the murderous Mathmetist cult, a group of people dedicated to ending suffering by any means necessary. As the only survivor of the cult, Jerry is now the only one who remembers anything about its teachings, not that he ever understood them particularly well. And though Jerry has been away from the Mathmetists for some time now, he still hasn't lost his murderous tendencies, and even now is very prone to violence.Since the downfall of Mathmetism, Jerry has been keeping himself busy by working at the gas station. He's not the most reliable or competent employee, but he's a deeply loyal friend to Jack and the rest of the limited staff. With a goofy grin on his face and a joke to crack for every situation, Jerry handles to the gas station's many oddities without flinching.

To outsiders, Jerry appears to be a simple, carefree idiot, his mind addled with alcohol and various other substances. And to a degree, this is very true. However, just beneath the surface, Jerry is very, very dangerous when he wants to be. He freely leans into the misconception that he's too stupid to know what he's doing, allowing others to underestimate him. After all, no one suspects the snake in the grass when the snake seems too stupid to be a threat.More about Jerry.

✗ Rosa Vasquez

the good influence
she/her - 24 - gas station clerk
status: primary

Rosa is one of the newest clerks at the gas station, having been hired less than a year ago. Despite her relatively short tenure so far, she's adapted to the strangeness of her new workplace with ease. So much so, in fact, that the owners have been determined to keep her working for them, going out of their way for her in a way they never do for their other employees. It's rare to have an employee at the gas station who's both competent and survives longer than a few weeks, and Rosa proved herself on both fronts almost right away.At her core, Rosa is a sweet, good-natured young woman who genuinely wants the best for those around her. She isn't perfect by any means, but in the eyes of her friends and coworkers at the gas station, she comes pretty damn close. That being said, of course, Rosa isn't just a sweetheart.

Beneath her friendliness is a boundless curiosity that has gotten her into trouble on more than one occasion, as well as a deep-seated desire to get to the bottom of the various mysteries and oddities of her workplace.Unlike her coworkers, Rosa is not content to just ignore the problems and pretend everything is fine, and she'll gladly say as much to anyone who asks.More about Rosa.

✗ Antonio Vargas

the inside man
he/him - 31 - gas station clerk / former secret agent
status: primary

Antonio, also known as Tony, is a part-timer at the gas station who started working there nearly a year and a half ago. Originally, he was hired as part of a prison relief program, given the job as part of his parole. What no one knew at the time, however, was that he wasn't just any other convict. In fact, he wasn't a convict at all.Antonio was undercover. Tony has dedicated his life to this cause, and he took to his mission at the gas station (to uncover the source of the supernatural occurrences and eliminate it) with gusto. That was, until he developed a genuine attachment to Jack, who he saw as one of his only friends.

When the truth came out, Tony turned against his employers and nearly died protecting Jack and the others from ISADE. And now that he's recovered, Tony is determined to continue his duty to protect those around him. He's still working to regain the others' trust after lying to them for so long, but he's come a long way from where he was before.More about Antonio.

✗ Spencer Middleton

the bastard son
he/it - 28 - gun-for-hire
status: secondary

Spencer Middleton is the gas station staff's very own collective murderous stalker. He doesn't work there, but he frequently stops by to terrorize the employees, especially Jack, with everything from mind games to brutal torture. Most of the time, Spencer does the dirty work for various supernatural entities, not caring at all what his employers do as long as he can make a quick buck out of it.Ever since Jack (unwittingly at first, and then very intentionally) thwarted his previous employer's plans to take control of Northcastle, Spencer has had a deep-seated obsession with him. He believes wholeheartedly that Jack is his soulmate, for better and for worse, and that he alone is destined to kill him. As for the other employees, Spencer couldn't care less about them for the most part, but he has no qualms about harming them if they get in the way.Despite all of his angry bravado and threats, Spencer is far less of a monster than he makes himself out to be.

He's certainly dangerous, but he's also, as Jerry would put it, a loser. After so long, Spencer's persistent manhunt and threats have become routine at the gas station, so much so that the employees don't always take him seriously (much to his chagrin). Even local law enforcement have seemingly made their peace with him.As frustrating as their disregard is, Spencer certainly can't deny that it makes things all the more satisfying when he does get the upper hand on his prey.More about Spencer.

✗ Amelia O'Brien

the long arm of the law
she/her - 30 - police officer
status: tertiary

Deputy Amelia O'Brien is a member of the local police force, a transfer from Brooklyn who traveled to Northcastle to care for her ailing aunt. For the most part, she's adjusted rather well to the eccentricities of her new home, approaching every strange or dangerous situation with a no-nonsense attitude and a strong desire to get to the bottom of everything. At heart, Amelia is a protector, wanting to keep those she loves safe and clean up corruption among her fellow officers. She believes in the mission behind police work that she heard when she was young, and it's one that she carries close to her heart and dedicates herself to wholeheartedly: protect and serve. Of course, she also knows that the world is not that simple, and far too many police don't feel the same way.Unfortunately, her strong convictions and moral compass have landed her in hot water with her new superiors, and Amelia was assigned gas station duty.

Rather than working alongside the rest of her department and tackling the corruption that has gone unchecked for far too long, she is nearly exclusively responsible for protecting the employees at the gas station and handling any situations that might arise there.Needless to say, Amelia is not a fan of this assignment, but she knows she doesn't exactly get a say in the matter. But, like everything else in her life, she's committed wholeheartedly to her duty, no matter how unglamorous it's proven to be.More about Amelia.

✗ Sabine Lemoyne

the ghost
she/her - 18 - high school student
status: request only

Sabine Lemoyne is a mysterious figure from Jack's past, his closest friend growing up and long-time girlfriend. Unfortunately, Sabine was in a terrible car accident in her senior year of high school, leaving her in a coma. In the nearly ten years since then, she still hasn't woken up. At this point, there's no hope that she ever will.Despite this, though, Jack hangs onto her memory, believing somewhere deep inside that she'll be back someday. He can never forget her, and he's afraid to accept that she's truly gone. And he's not alone--all throughout town, people have either forgotten Sabine or choose to believe she simply moved away, and someday she'll come home.Despite how much he misses her, Jack struggles to talk about Sabine. Most days, he can't even bring himself to say her name.

Note: Sabine is very much a request-only muse, as in most verses by default she is in a coma or dead. With extensive plotting and discussion, I am open to plotlines in which Sabine wakes up from her coma, but for the most part, these will be highly selective. Sabine is dead, but her ghost has left a lasting, permanent impact on those who knew her.More about Sabine.

Other characters from Tales From the Gas Station are likely to appear as NPCs/guest muses at my discretion, but only these characters are muses available for interactions and plotting.

✗ VERSES

Main VersesMain Verse: The Shitty Gas Station
“At the edge of town, there’s a shitty gas station. Weird things happen there.”
Jack Townsend has worked the same dead-end job for years now, and he's seen it all. Drunks, addicts, violent robberies, vicious raccoons, ghosts, mutated deer, demons, shapeshifters, murderous stalkers, and every flavor of human stupidity known to man. For the most part, he takes everything in stride and doesn't like to make a fuss, even when it may perhaps be warranted to do so. As much as Jack keeps to himself and avoids getting involved in others' business, trouble finds him more often than not.(This is a canon divergent verse that diverges sometime after volume one but still loosely follows canon. I originally had a whole page listing every divergence, but truthfully that was exhausting to upkeep. Just trust me. This verse is most compatible with modern verses, but it's also the most flexible in terms of fandom. Anyone can come visit the gas station, and the gas station can be anywhere it has to be.Sabine Verse: Miss American Pie Request Only
"I wonder what she-who-must-not-be-named is doing right now."
The year is 2007. Sabine Lemoyne has just learned that her boyfriend, Jack Townsend, is dying. She isn't handling it well, but she's putting a brave face on the situation. He only has a year left, and she's going to make sure it's the best goddamn year anyone could have. For the most part, this is the only verse Sabine is available to write in by default. Jack, Sabine, and Spencer are the only muses available in this verse in general, and this verse is timeline locked for the late 2000s.Alternate Verses` These are verses that are a bit more canon divergent than the main two, but are more open for interactions than my Just For Me ones. You understand.Feral Jack Verse Request Only
"I died a few weeks ago. My friends don't believe that I'm back."
Jack Townsend went missing in late 2019, reappearing a short while later. However, upon his return, he was... different. Aside from a few changes to his physical appearance, he was angrier, more assertive, less of an easygoing sweetheart and more of a dick. While he didn't tell anyone what happened, one thing quickly became clear: this isn't the Jack everyone knew and loved.... Or is it?(This verse is also most compatible with modern verses, but it's an even more canon divergent offshoot than the main verse. Basically, Jack died, but then he got better.)Ghost Tony Verse Request Only

Jack, Sabine, and Spencer ran away from this shitty little town and its shitty little gas station, and they now run a bar elsewhere. They're hanging in there. This ship is definitely closed for shipping with those three, because they're deeply committed to each other exclusively.

✗ CONTENT WARNINGS

There will be a variety in what content warnings apply to this blog, but I wanted to curate a list of topics and themes that will be prominent enough to warrant a general warning about. I will endeavor to tag for relevant warnings as they appear, but please keep in mind that this is not an exhaustive list. This is a general list of topics that will be most relevant/recurring, not necessarily ones that will appear in every thread.Consider this a general warning for major themes that might be upsetting. Also, please keep in mind that these are muses based on a horror series. As a result, expect themes and imagery centering around horror, even if the tone will usually be rather lighthearted and comedic. As a reminder, my tagging format is #[trigger] cw but I am more than willing to tag things differently upon request. You are also more than welcome to reach out to me if you need additional things tagged, but I reserve the right to reject a request I cannot accommodate. Finally, while I will do my best to be vigilant with tagging things, I can't promise I'll always remember. You are always welcome to remind me if I missed a tag, but in general tread lightly if any of these topics may be sensitive for you. This is not an exhaustive list of every potentially upsetting topic or theme that may come up in threads. These are just the ones that I think will be mentioned enough to warrant giving a heads up about.

✗ Terminal Illness, especially in threads involving Jack Townsend and Sabine Lemoyne (tagged as #terminal illness cw)✗ Cults and Cult Activity, especially in threads involving Jerry Pascal (tagged as #cults cw)✗ Suicide / Suicidal Ideation (tagged as #suicide cw and #suicidal ideation cw respectively)✗ Body Horror (visual depictions will be tagged as #body horror cw)✗ Abuse, especially abuse involving children (tagged as #abuse cw)✗ Drugs and Alcohol Abuse, especially in threads involving Jerry Pascal (tagged as #drugs cw and #alcohol cw respectively)✗ Graphic Violence, especially in threads involving Antonio Vargas, Spencer Middleton, and Amelia O'Brien (graphic depictions tagged as #violence cw)✗ Blood / Gore (visual depictions will be tagged as #blood cw and #gore cw as needed, but not necessarily each time)✗ Ableism, especially in threads involving Amelia O'Brien and/or Jack Townsend (tagged as #ableism cw)✗ Transphobia / Homophobia (will not be prominent themes for the most part but will be referenced on occasion--tagged as #homophobia cw and #transphobia cw respectively)

✗ ANTONIO VARGAS

I never bothered to ask what his official job was. In return, he never pried into my personal life. It was a solid relationship built on mutual respect and privacy, and at some point along the way it dawned on me that he was probably the closest thing I had to a friend.

✗ BACKGROUNDAntonio "Tony" Vargas started working at the gas station a little over two years ago, joining as part of a prison relief program as per the conditions of his parole. And for most of that year, he was a dutiful employee, dedicated and hard-working, if perhaps a bit quiet and keeping to himself much of the time. In this time, he struck up a tentative friendship with Jack, but for the most part he kept his head down and got his work done without complaint. Then, a little less than a year after he started his employment, he "accidentally" killed local politician Kieffer Greene. This set in motion a series of events that rapidly spiraled out of control, culminating in a reveal none around Tony expected: he was never an employee at the gas station after all, at least not on any official basis. Rather, he was an agent working undercover on behalf of the International Syndicate for Aberration Detection and Elimination (ISADE), a group dedicated to seeking out and neutralizing supernatural threats. In the chaos surrounding the reveal, Tony received a fateful order from his superiors: Jack Townsend had been compromised, and he had to die. Though it broke Tony's heart to kill the one person at the gas station he felt he had a real connection with, he was nothing if not dutiful. Besides, if Tony didn't kill Jack, someone else would--this way, at least he could ensure Jack had a peaceful death. At least, he was up until he was actually face-to-face with Jack and realized he couldn't do it. No matter how much he wanted to follow orders like had for much of his life, he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger and kill his friend. This hesitation was the end for Tony, as Jack was able to outsmart him.Though he managed to injure Jerry in the struggle, Tony was quickly taken out, shot three times in the back and once in the head. By all means, a humiliating death, but one that Tony faced and accepted...

... Except, of course, nothing would ever be so easy.Later, Tony would learn that Jack had managed to save him, thinking and acting quickly enough to make sure Tony didn't bleed to death from his injuries before help could arrive. From there, it was a miracle that Tony was left alive and un-paralyzed. Still with rather significant brain and nerve damage, but nothing he couldn't handle. He'd had much worse, he told himself. It took some months for Tony to recover from his injuries, slowly learning how to be a person again. Still, he pushed himself through his recovery with the same determination he faced every other challenge in life before. He had no time to dwell on what had happened to him, as he realized that, now that he'd proven himself a liability to ISADE, he was dead to them--in more ways than one.Not only that, but he knew someone else would be sent to finish the job he couldn't make himself do. So, the moment he had his strength back, Tony approached the owners of the gas station with an offer: if they let him return and start working there properly, he would make sure their employees--especially Jack--would be safe from any agents sent to eliminate them. The owners were more than a little reluctant, but they soon came around, and Tony was hired almost immediately. Evidently, their need to keep Jack alive outweighed any objections they might have.Tony is still re-integrating with the rest of the group, most of whom aren't so keen on trusting him this time around. As much as it hurts, Tony can't really fault them for that, especially Jack. He'll just have to work extra hard to protect them and prove himself. As long as Tony is around and has something to say about it, no one is getting to anyone on the gas station crew.

✗ MISC. NOTES If it isn't obvious, part of the canon divergence of this blog is that Tony survives the events of volume one, though he is left with chronic health issues as a result of being shot four times. You can read more about this verse on the verses page! For the most part, all of this is very heavily based in personal headcanon, as very little information is given about Tony as a character in the books. Don't worry about it. As of now, there are no plans for a verse where Tony is dead. Unfortunately, he is in fact my poor little meow meow, so I am giving him all the plot armor in the world. If he's not here then I'm not interested.

Habits Bites his nails, fidgets with his hair and clothes, struggles to make eye contact, frequently talks to himself
Hobbies Reading (pulpy science fiction is his special interest, but he'll read basically anything), playing video games, journaling (runs a semi-popular blog under the pseudonym GasStationJack)
Fears Being watched, blood, the deterioration of his own mind and body, losing those closest to him, losing control of himself

Preferred Weapon Whatever is available to him if the situation calls for it, but he does keep a baseball bat in the store for self-defense
Level of Violence Usually only as a last resort, and even then he hates to be violent. (As a note, Jack does have violent and sadistic tendencies that he rarely acts on outside of severe psychotic episodes.)

✗ BACKGROUNDJack Townsend has been the head cashier at the shitty gas station at the edge of his small town since he graduated high school, shortly after his diagnosis of Fatal Familial Insomnia. For nearly ten years, he's worked the same dead-end job, waiting for the day he would finally drop dead.Even when he lived past his initial prognosis, he saw no point in trying to do anything else with his life. After all, even though he far outlived the prognosis for FFI, his doctors made it clear he wasn't getting better--he was just dying slower than expected. For the past ten years or so, Jack has been a fixture at the gas station, earning a modest reputation in his local community, or at least among the store's regulars. He avoids talking about himself and his personal life whenever he can help it, to the point that even those closest to him know very little about him for the most part.Eventually, at the urging of his psychiatrist, Jack started keeping a journal in the form of a blog, which he runs under the pseudonym GasStationJack. Though his blog originally started as a place to just keep track of his symptoms, it soon became Jack's only outlet to vent about the various bizarre situations he's found himself in while at work. Very soon, Jack was typing up an entry nearly every week, slowly amassing a modest online following. Most of Jack's readers believe his stories are all fictional, simply an elaborate writing exercise. And he's fine with that, because at least this means less of his readers are trying to track him down to demand "proof." (Not that that doesn't still happen on occasion.)

It also means Jack has plausible deniability whenever the town council comes knocking to demand he stop writing his blog. If his readers don't believe anything he says, then why should they care about him keeping a record of public events?Of course, despite the prevailing belief that his blog is entirely fictional, it has gotten Jack in a significant amount of trouble. The more people who get eyes on his blog, the more strangers on the Internet seem very interested in hurting him.Jack's blog has directly led to him getting his ass kicked multiple times, almost gotten several people in his life killed, and implicated him in multiple murders (though, in his defense, who hasn't killed Kieffer by now?), but he continues writing it regardless. In the end, the benefits outweigh the cons. Writing this blog has tethered Jack to reality in a way nothing else has since his diagnosis, and despite the danger, having the ability to finally vent his frustrations and share his experiences with the world is a relief like no other. Plus, sometimes he receives some very nice fanmail amid the death threats.Eventually, Jack's blog led him to a surprising revelation, one he still hasn't quite processed for himself: his FFI diagnosis was, in fact, a misdiagnosis. He was never actually dying. This revelation was earth-shattering for Jack, and he still hasn't quite managed to recover since. For the first time in a long time, Jack has to contend with the fact that he's not meant to die young, at least not the way he initially thought. Unless fate throws another curveball his way, he'll live a long, long time. What a fucking insane concept.

✗ MISC. NOTES A lot of what I say here about Jack is verse dependent, but I didn't feel like putting myself through hell noting every single instance where something changes depending on the verse. If you'd like to read more about his different verses, check out my verses page! I write Jack with the intent that he's autistic, though he was never officially diagnosed and doesn't refer to himself as such. While having specific voiceclaims isn't a super high priority much of the time, I would be remiss if I didn't pay homage to the one voice I attribute to Jack Townsend--MrCreepypasta himself. So, consider MCP his voiceclaim.

✗ SPENCER MIDDLETON

Dislikes The smell of smoke, dogs, thunderstorms, alcohol, video games
Habits Chewing his nails, grinding his teeth, smoking (in some verses), picking at his scars
Hobbies Hunting, hiking, listening to music, running, reading
Fears Nothing, actually, fuck you. (Spencer's greatest fear is losing control of himself or a situation he's in. And more than that, he fears himself and the idea that he's just as bad as everyone has always said he is.)
Dreams On some level, the biggest thing Spencer wants is someone who understands him.
Preferred Weapon Spencer is willing to use basically anything as a weapon--he's versatile like that! However, he most likes knives.
Level of Violence Very prone to violence. Spencer's first resort is often violence in a stressful situation.

✗ BACKGROUNDFrom a young age, everyone in town knew there was something wrong with Spencer Middleton. He was too cold, too quick to jump to violence, too clingy, too aggressive. Unfortunately, in such a small town in such an isolated, rural area, there was little to no infrastructure in place to offer him the support and help he needed. At most, the adults in Spencer's life said a prayer for him and called it a day.As he grew, Spencer grew colder and more violent, to the point that even his parents were afraid of him. Not that he could ever hurt them, of course, but that there was something deeply wrong with their child. It wasn't long before they began harshly punishing Spencer anytime he acted too abnormal, especially his father. Soon, it was common knowledge in town that Spencer's parents were abusive, but little was done to remedy the situation.Young Spencer's only real solace was another child in town around his age: Jack Townsend. As another victim of an abusive household, Jack and Spencer formed a strong but unspoken bond over the years, offering each other support when they were abandoned by the adults around them. More than that, Jack was the only child who was unafraid of Spencer. All things must come to an end, however, and with time, Jack and Spencer grew apart. They never consciously decided to stop talking, but it happened nonetheless. And when Jack began making other friends, Spencer cut off contact entirely. When Spencer was eighteen, he was contacted by a U.S. army recruiter who'd taken an interest in him. If he enlisted with them, he could leave behind the shitty small town where he’d grown up, and he could find people who really cared about him. Without hesitation, Spencer accepted. The last thing Spencer did before he left town was burn his house to the ground, his parents still trapped inside. He made sure neither of them made it out. His younger brother Elijah was at a friend's house at the time and only learned what happened afterward, by which time Spencer had left town entirely.

Almost ten years later, Spencer returned to town, freshly discharged from the military and with a new mission: he was to protect a local politician named Kieffer Greene on behalf of a being known only as the Dark God. It should’ve been an easy enough job, all things considered. Though Kieffer was an idiot at the best of times, keeping track of him was child's play compared to his time in the military. However, things were quickly complicated further, and Spencer was reunited with his childhood friend when Jack's best friend fucking killed Kieffer. This set in motion a series of violent events that quickly spiraled out of control. In the ensuing chaos, Spencer was killed, his throat torn open with a box-cutter and his body left to rot on the gas station floor. In his final moments, Spencer thought it was far from a fitting end for him, but there was nothing he could do.However, it seemed The Dark God felt similarly, as Spencer woke up again only a few hours later. He was alive again, but he was different, a little less human. And now that he was alive again, The Dark God had more work for him to do, seizing control of his body and sending him after Jack.Only a few hours after Spencer's resurrection, The Dark God was destroyed by a wannabe monster hunter named Benjamin. With the being's death, its influence on Spencer was severed, and he was left a floundering puppet without strings. He was his own person again, for better or for worse. In the aftermath, Spencer became a regular at the gas station, antagonizing its staff with everything from minor annoyances to graphic threats. He accepts odd jobs from various entities, human and otherwise, doing their dirty work while torturing his favorite gas station employees as much as he pleases. Now that Jack is in his life again, Spencer is more than eager to make up for lost time. For the most part, Jack and the other gas station employees are deeply afraid of Spencer, but with time, he's become more of an annoyance than an active threat. Not that they'd ever tell him that to his face--Spencer gets very angry when he feels he's not being taken seriously.

✗ MISC. NOTES If it isn't clear, a significant part of my canon divergence involves Jack and Spencer being childhood friends. Does it contradict some aspects of canon? Yes. Yes, it does. But it adds an interesting element to their conflict later on, so I'm keeping it. My city now. Though Spencer is both aromantic and asexual for the most part, he is tentatively available for shipping. Just know that ships with Spencer are very highly selective and require extensive plotting--he experiences attraction extremely rarely, and it's even rarer that he'd ever act on it. Yes, I know Spencer is only really resurrected once in canon, but hush. He's my stupid bitch who can't die and that's what I like about him.

✗ JERRY PASCAL

Really, it wasn't about the cult. It was about that one cultist. The one who didn't understand the rules. The one who was constantly trying to get me to follow him back to the compound. Health Conditions Physically healthy for the most part, as long as you ignore the effects of his nearly 15-year smoking habit. Insists he has no mental health problems.✗ PSYCHOLOGYPersonality Outgoing, cheerful, carefree, excellent actor, chaotic, reckless, resourceful, skilled engineer, lacks self-awareness, kind of a moron, forms addictions easily, prone to violence, smarter than he looksLikes Taking shit apart to see how it works, painting his nails, smoking, Marvel movies, causing chaos however he can, experimental music, raccoons, math, fire
Dislikes The cold, the gas station owners, capitalism and the horrors it entails, shapeshifters, his family, the police, the moniker of Marlboro
Habits Smoking, alcoholism, recreational drug use (especially psychedelics), somewhat compulsively fidgets
Hobbies Sculpting, tinkering with machinery, cooking, hiking
Fears Being completely alone and abandoned by those around him
Dreams Jerry mainly just wants to be loved and understood, a dream he believes he has already achieved. More than that, however, he wishes on some level to revive Mathmetism and make it great like it used to be.
Preferred Weapon Jerry is versatile and will use whatever weapon is closest in an emergency scenario, but he has a fondness for guns.
Level of Violence Incredibly prone, and he will give you very little warning before attacking you. As he puts it, Jerry has a "hard-on for homicide."

✗ BACKGROUNDJerry Pascal is a former member of the Mathmetist cult, which was once located in the woods behind the gas station. Though the Mathmetists typically kept to themselves, Jerry never was particularly good at staying away from people and relished in being an exception to the norm. His brothers and sisters were standoffish when talking to the people in town, but Jerry actively sought them out to talk to them. The gas station was always a favorite of his, and he spent many hours there, chatting with staff and customers alike.Perhaps this is part of why, in the end, his fellow Mathmetists decided one day to subtly cut Jerry out of the group. His higher-ups sent him on what they called a "vision quest" to find himself, promising that he would be accepted with welcome arms upon his return. Then, while he was gone, they proceeded to have a mass suicide, and he only found out several days later.Following the loss of the cult he'd dedicated his life to, Jerry foundered for some time, suffering from severe depression and a loss of purpose. Eventually, however, he decided to reevaluate his circumstances, using the very same philosophies taught to him by Mathmetism. While he was sad that his brothers and sisters had left him, surely they were happier without him. Any suffering he was experiencing was outweighed by the happiness they must have felt upon death. And so, Jerry decided he would stop being depressed and simply move forward.Thankfully, only a few days after his fellow Mathmetists moved on, the gas station owners reached out to him and offered a job. Evidently, they were impressed by his ability to live in the gas station undetected while he was in the throes of depression, and they admired his ability to take initiative by taking over for Jack whenever the other man was indisposed somehow.

As much as he disliked them, he accepted immediately.Since the day he was hired, Jerry's life has taken so many twists and turns that he's had trouble keeping track of them all. He's found a new group of lifelong friends in his fellow employees, especially Jack. While he still misses his fellow Mathmetists every day, he's chosen to embrace life and all the joys that come with it rather than dwell on any of the negatives.Of course, despite no longer being a Mathmetist, Jerry has no intention of leaving behind the teachings that governed his life for ten years. He's still very prone to violence, and he uses Mathmetism's ideas of logic, suffering, and happiness to weigh every decision he makes--from trying and failing to quit smoking to whether or not it's worth it to hit a customer with a baseball bat. That doesn't mean that everything's been easy, however. Jerry's life has been in danger on more than one occasion, from both human and supernatural threats. Fuck, a little over a year ago, he was shot in the shoulder trying to protect Jack, and just last week, one of the raccoons bit him.Despite that, Jerry is so excited to have friends that he's willing to look past the danger his life's been in since he got this job. For perhaps the first time in his life since he first joined the Mathmetist community, Jerry feels like he's really found a community of people who understand and care about him. And he'll do anything to protect them, especially Jack, his best friend in the world. In the meantime, though, Jerry would love if someone would listen to his pitch about Mathmetism. He's not planning to convert anybody against his will, but he's still holding out hope that someday someone will hear him out about his logical and mathematically-based philosophy.

✗ MISC. NOTES My interpretation of Jerry is very heavily based on headcanons, and I 100% subscribe to the idea that he's not as stupid as he appears. Don't get me wrong, he is stupid, but much of this is an act on his part. Jerry does not like to label himself. As such, the most specific labels he'll use for his gender and orientation are both queer. On another note, Jerry does not actually understand Mathmetism that well, and not everything he says about it is actually reflective of the cult as a whole. For example, he insists Mathmetism is an atheistic philosophy, despite there being abundant evidence to the contrary.

✗ SABINE LEMOYNE

My first foster home was only a couple miles from the gas station, and Sabine's parents thought daycare was a scam, so we spent most of our summer days exploring the forest together, building forts, climbing trees, catching frogs for her collection, and wasting our time in sweet, generic childhood innocence.

Languages English, very limited French

✗ PHYSICALHair Thick, messy, and dark brown, usually hanging loosely around her shoulders
Eyes Dark brown
Height 5'10" (177.8 cm)
Build Tall and thin, a bit on the lanky side
Clothing Style Sabine often preferred to dress femininely for the most part, favoring lighter colors, though as she got older she started dressing more punk
Notable Traits Messy hair, freckles, height, very softspoken
Piercings None
Scars None / Physical scars from the car accident, hidden by her thick hair verse dependent
Tattoos None
Health Conditions Sabine has been in a coma for nearly ten years--outside of certain verses, she remains in that coma.✗ PSYCHOLOGYPersonality Gentle, deeply compassionate, took charge easily, shrewd judgment, argumentative and outspoken, somewhat confrontational, bit of a gossip, generally tried to be very understanding and tolerant, easily stressedLikes Frogs, mushrooms, baking, reading (especially fond of pulpy fantasy romance novels), going for long runs, rainy days, Tom Petty's music, cats
Dislikes Dancing, the heat, musicals, dogs, social media, mean pranks, the local Southern Baptist pastor
Habits Picked at her nails and skin, compulsively pulled at her hair when stressed or anxious
Hobbies Amateur musician (enjoyed playing guitar), drawing, stargazing, collecting frog-related memorabilia, hiking
Fears Death, her own or of those she loved
Dreams To live a long and happy life and leave her shitty hometown behind, eventually settling down with Jack somewhere safe for them both.
Preferred Weapon None! This isn't something Sabine put much thought into.
Level of Violence Extremely unlikely, basically only as a last resort or self-defense.

✗ BACKGROUNDSabine is a mysterious figure from Jack's past, his long-time girlfriend that he dated for nearly fifteen years. However, Sabine is effectively dead and has been for some time, as she's been in a coma ever since she and Jack were involved in a car accident when they were teenagers. At this point, it's unlikely she'll ever wake up.Most of Sabine's friends and loved ones seem content to have forgotten her, or if they do remember her they choose not to mention her. If she were conscious, perhaps she'd find it ironic how few people seem to actually miss her.[ Important Note ] in most verses, Sabine is in a coma and therefore unavailable for interaction. However, with some plotting, I am also open to discussing the possibility of Sabine waking up in certain verses, as well as threads taking place before the accident.Though threads with her will be extremely selective and limited, they'll always be open.

✗ MISC. NOTES Sabine is primarily attracted to women, and for the most part, Jack is the only exception to that. In life, Sabine never had the chance to find a single queer label that specifically fit her and so I am reflecting that in not assigning a specific label to her, even in the occasional verse where she gets to live and have a life outside of the events of canon. However, I want to make note of my intentions here. Sabine's parents are the owners of the gas station, and though they were borderline helicopter parents when she was a child, as she got older they grew more and more distant, frequently neglecting her in favor of their business. By the time the accident occurred, part of Sabine honestly believed they didn't care about her. Obviously, basically everything here is personal headcanon, as Sabine is a character with very little concrete information about her in canon. Which also just means that I'm right about her.

✗ ROSA VASQUEZ

Her name is Rosa, and despite her eager optimism, I guess she’s pretty cool. She’s a couple years younger than me, smart, very capable, and has exhibited a level of competence that I would categorize as “not at all like Jerry,” which is something I think the owners were really looking for in a new employee.

✗ BACKGROUNDRosa grew up in a loving family several towns over, with parents who adored her and two older brothers who were overprotective of her. When she came out as trans in her mid-teens, there was a bit of an adjustment period, but Rosa's family came around quickly enough. There was never a moment where Rosa doubted that she was loved.Despite that, though, Rosa felt stifled at home with her family. She wanted to leave the next, to spread her wings and truly find her way in the world. So, the moment she was able to, she moved out, picking a small town at random to move to a couple of years she finished college. It was still within driving distance of her family, but it was just far enough that she could feel independent for the first time.Of course, moving to this town quickly proved to be a dubious decision, but Rosa is unwilling to admit that this may have been a bad idea. She's had multiple townspeople be very rude to her, but she learned how to stand up for herself rather quickly. Now, she has no problem telling off rude jerks who get in her face.It was about three months into her stay that she first landed a job at the local gas station, which she was excited for. Sure, it wasn't the most exciting establishment, but after meeting the manager, a sweet man named Jack, she was looking forward to giving it a shot. At least, that was before she was threatened and insulted by another employee on her first day and "fired." Jack apologized to her, sure, but she was still upset.Over the next few weeks, Rosa was jerked around and near-constantly disrespected by the gas station owners and staff, and finally she had enough. She told Jack in no uncertain terms that she wouldn't be coming back, and he understood and apologized, wishing her well. For a moment, Rosa considered staying at the job, but ultimately she knew she was better off elsewhere.

This only lasted about three days before her new workplace, a local restaurant named Hammy's, burned to the ground. Though Rosa never knew for sure what happened, the job offer letter she received shortly after from the gas station owners gave her plenty of reasons to be uneasy. Ultimately, she decided to go back to working there, if nothing else then to make sure the owners wouldn't pull that again. It's now been about six months since Rosa started working at the gas station, and she's having the time of her life so far. Really, she is. Sure, it's stressful, oftentimes thankless work, and she's had to deal with horrors beyond her comprehension more often than not. But that's fine, surely! Every job has its ups and downs. This job's ups and downs are just... more pronounced, Rosa supposes. She's been possessed, attacked, and even nearly arrested on one memorable occasion. Some days, Rosa swears she's aged ten years since working at this place from the stress alone!Still, it's worth it, Rosa thinks. For one thing, she thinks she's adjusted very well to the nonsense around her. It's still confusing and stressful at the best of times, but the supernatural stuff makes things exciting! And more than that, this job has given her the chance to really stretch her legs and start finding a place in the world. And besides, if she hadn't started working at the gas station, Rosa might never have met and befriended the other employees. At this point, she considers Jack and Jerry her best friends in the world. For better or for worse, she's with them until the end.Of course, she does sincerely hope it doesn't come to that. She'd like herself and her friends to keep living, thank you very much!Though Rosa isn't sure what's coming next for her and her friends, she's excited to see.

✗ MISC. NOTES Rosa is particularly prone to possession, perhaps more so than anyone else in the little friend group. Though she isn't sure why this is, she tries not to stress out about it too much. As with all of my muses here, Rosa is very heavily based on headcanon. That being said. I'm completely right about her actually, and you can't change my mind. She develops crushes rather easily, but of course I will never attempt to force a ship or anything. I'm just having fun, and Rosa is a helpless romantic at heart. If you're nice to her, she'll probably get a little baby crush.

✗ AMELIA O'BRIEN

The idea of a deputy acting as my personal driver was probably just as absurd to her as it was to me, but she went along with it and didn't raise too much fuss. She stayed close and kept a watchful eye in a way that Tom would have probably approved of, and she made the drive between town and the hospital in under three hours, which I didn't think was physically possible. I had a hard time reading her, and neither of us was really big on small talk. One thing was for sure: she probably didn't like me very much.

✗ BACKGROUNDAmelia O’Brien was born to a single mother in New York City, the oldest of three children. She learned from a young age the value of working hard and caring for those dearest to her, as when her mother was unavailable, Amelia was often stuck caring for her younger siblings. Though she’s never been a naturally warm person, her family matters to her more than anything else, and she carried this desire to work hard and protect others into her adulthood. As a child, she had a close relationship with her Aunt Natasha, who would often visit despite living much further south. Natasha tried her best to be there for the small family, and she always made time for the children when she visited. Amelia looked forward to her aunt’s visits more than anything, as Natasha was able to be there for her much more than her actual mother. It was the one time that Amelia could let someone take care of her rather than the other way around. When she graduated from college with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Amelia enrolled in the police academy, finishing near the top of her class. Her original plan was to join the NYPD (whom she had received an offer from very shortly after her graduation), but that plan quickly fell to the wayside when she received word that her Aunt Natasha was terribly sick.Though a part of Amelia was reluctant to after all she had accomplished to reach her dreams, she knew her family came first, and if she were sick, she knew Natasha would drop everything to be there for her. It was only fair that Amelia do the same for her.So, Amelia turned down the offer from the NYPD, packed up her things, and moved several states south to be with Aunt Natasha. Her younger brother Jake offered to come with her, not wanting her to go alone, but Amelia assured him that everything would be fine.It had to be, after all. Amelia didn't feel she had much of a choice one way or another.

Settling into her new town was difficult. The people were cold to her at the best of times, and it was made explicitly clear to her on more than one occasion that people like her weren’t welcome. Despite this hostility, Amelia was determined to stick it out and be there for her aunt, and within a few weeks she was able to get a job at the local police department.Of course, it wasn’t long until Amelia saw firsthand how corrupt the local police were. After finding a fellow officer abusing his power to cover up the murder of a local high schooler, she brought the issue to the attention of the sheriff, one Clyde Callie. Callie’s response caught her by surprise, however, as she received a swift reprimand and a firm order to keep her mouth shut.Within the month, following the disappearance of her fellow officer Deputy Arnold, Amelia was given what the locals called “gas station duty.” Effectively, on top of her regular police work, Amelia’s job was now to respond to every emergency call made to the gas station and, in general, make sure the employees are alive and able to do their jobs. Callie told her that, as long as she followed her new orders dutifully, she could stay on the force. Otherwise… well, who knows what might happen. The warning was very clear. Keep looking into shit you're not supposed to, and you'll be fine.At first, Amelia resented her new duty and the gas station employees by extension, as she saw the reassignment for the obvious distraction it was. If she had to spend all of her time watching over some minimum-wage retail workers, she wouldn’t be able to further investigate and expose the corruption she saw in her fellow officers. As time passed, however, she began to grow attached to them, and within the year, she considered them friends. Her primary goal is still to root out the corruption in the force, but now she protects the people at the gas station just as fiercely. They’re her people now, after all.

✗ MISC. NOTES Though Amelia is dedicated to solving corruption in the local force, she is, in many ways, intentionally ignorant to some of the larger systemic issues caused by police presence. This is not to say that she is completely unaware of them, but in many ways she turns a blind eye for the sake of pursuing justice as she sees it. On some level, she is aware that her goal to fix the local police force won’t result in any kind of broader, sweeping changes, but she is trying to focus on changing what she can. And as far as Amelia is concerned, the best way to do this is from the inside. I do like Amelia as a character, but I resent the general portrayal of her as a perfect girlboss who never gets anything wrong. It is my mission to let her be a cringy little loser sometimes. She's cool and confident and interesting, but also she can be a huge fucking loser now and then. As a treat.

✗ SO WHERE THE FUCK IS THE GAS STATION, ANYWAY?

The gas station's location is one of many details in TFTGS that are never outlined specifically. There are definitely clues as to where it may be located, but nothing concrete. For the most part, I'm happy to leave things ambiguous and will gladly move the gas station around depending on the thread and verse. If it works better for our threads to have it somewhere else, then it can be somewhere else. However, I do have a specific location in mind. Nine times out of ten, unless otherwise stated, the gas station is here.Northcastle, Georgia. The fictional town of Northcastle is mostly known for being close to the highway and functioning as a convenient rest stop for weary travelers. However, it does have a few claims to fame, such as being the site of a bloody Civil War battle and the place it rained frogs in 1989.(Ignoring the fact that the nearest significant battle took place nearly 200 miles away, of course. The frogs thing did happen, though.)When referencing other important locations, I will mention both real-world names and made-up ones. What can I say? I love keeping people on their toes.

Approximate map showing the place Northcastle exists in my mind: about four hours away from Atlanta, towards the southernmost part of the state. Close enough to the highway to function as a rest stop, but otherwise not particularly significant. The gas station itself is located at the outskirts of town, near the border of a vast, expansive forest.
